Rocshox tk30 Gold

The TK30 is very plush once dialled-in. Lightweight and very easy to adjust!

The Rockshox TK30 Gold is a budget-friendly fork with the performance of higher-end forks in the Rockshox lineup. The 120mm travel gives you confidence to speed-up on rough stuff but I cannot recommend using this fork on high jumps and drops.

I raced using this fork and it performed well. The black stanchions are pretty tough. It survived the dusty and muddy trails from my previous races. (See my posts on http://pinoyoutdoorsman.com/711-trail-2018/ and http://pinoyoutdoorsman.com/grand-shimano-xc-race/)

I could only wish that Rockshox will make a version of the same budget fork with 32mm stanchions (TK32 Gold anyone??? 🙂 ). I could feel a bit of flex specially when braking but it is not distracting. The glossy paint job is easy to scratch. It is recommended to install a protective skin if you want but scratches are part of the excitement right? 🙂

Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase. It also complemented my cannondale frame which is matte-black.

For those who want a budget-friendly fork with technology from higher-end Rockshox forks, this is highly recommended 🙂
