If you have read my Princeton Tec Fuel review earlier then you might be asking why I replaced the Fuel with this baby.
Here are the specifications:

Max. lighting distance: 40 m
Max. battery life: 185 h
Number of batteries: 3
Battery type (included): AAA/LR03
Battery compatibility: alkaline, lithium, rechargeable Ni-MH,
Watertightness: IP X4 (water resistant)
The IPX4 spec and Battery Compatibility of the Petzl Tikka Plus were the reasons why I upgraded from the PT Fuel. I have been using the Tikka Plus for 3 years now and I haven’t encountered any issues with it both in built and function. It is more expensive that the Fuel but worth it.
I had only one concern at first. Initially I thought the plastic casing would wear out quickly but I was wrong. Used it in cold, wet, sunny, dry and humid conditions, accidentally dropped it many times and the plastic has not cracked yet.
I love the low battery indicator. It helps 🙂
The IPX4 rating delivers. No rain has ever made my Petzl Tikka Plus malfunction whatsoever!!!
I give the Petzl Tikka plus 4.5-out-of-5 stars. Buy it. You won’t regret it.
